A Winter/Christmas Personal Anthology special: call for submissions
Dear subscriber.
Many thanks for your continued interest in A Personal Anthology. We are now two-and-half months into a project that I hope will run and run - and I will soon be putting out a call for new contributors in the New Year. You can still go to the TinyLetter archive to find personal introductions to favourite short stories from: Helen McClory, Nicholas Royle, Cath Barton, Roland Bates of Kirkdale Books, Alex Clark, Catherine Taylor, David Hebblethwaite, Tania Hershman, Tom Lee and myself - a wonderful mix of writers, critics and booksellers. And there are plenty more exciting names to come.
However, what I'd like to do at the moment is put out a call for individual submissions for a special Winter/Christmas issue, to go out on Friday 22 December. Rather than dedicating a letter to one guest editor's selection, I'd like to make this a collaborative effort. So, please have a think and come up with your favourite Christmas- or Winter-themed short story (or perhaps novel extract or scene), and send it to me at jonathangibbs@mail.com. Follow the format of previous entries: writer, title, publication details and link to online version if applicable, plus a paragraph saying why you love the story, where you came it across, and what it means to you. Deadline is Tuesday 19 December. It would be lovely to have a great mix of takes on the festive season.
And don't forget to tell your friends to sign up.
And if you don't already subscribe, why not check out Thomas Morris's TinyLetter A Small Good Thing and Helen McClory's The Unsung Letter.
All the best
Jonathan
